January Workshop

Registrations are coming in for the next workshop. We'll be meeting in downtown Newburyport on January 26 & 27 from noon to 5 pm. The full workshop is taught over two afternoons and you'll get your certificate on Sunday.

Saugus workshop is full

Although the workshop in Saugus is full, we still have room in the one we are offering in Newburyport on December 1 & 2. (If you like you can register for the one in Saugus, but you would be on the waiting list. If you don't get in, you will have the choice of a refund or a later workshop.) Workshop in Amesbury October 13 & 14 - starting to fill

We are doing the workshop in downtown Amesbury, at the Newburyport Savings Bank, on Saturday and Sunday October 13 & 14, noon to 5 p.m. Registrations are coming in and this workshop is now just over half full. To register, email Ellie O'Leary at EOLeary@CoastalHB.org.

September Workshops

We have three workshops coming up in September - all meeting in downtown Newburyport. They will be from noon to about 5 p.m. on September 15 & 16, September 22 & 23, and September 29 & 30. Workshop on August 25 & 26 - in downtown Newburyport

We are receiving registrations now for our second August workshop meeting on Saturday and Sunday, August 25 & 26 from noon to 5 each day. There's room now, but please don't wait to register. Saugus Workshop Sold Out

The workshop scheduled for the weekend of August 4 & 5 is sold out, but we still have room in all of our remaining workshops.

August Workshops in Saugus and Newburyport

We have two workshops coming up in August - both meeting on Saturday & Sunday, from noon to 5 pm. On August 4 & 5 we'll be in Saugus meeting at a branch of North Shore Bank. Amesbury Workshop

We still have room in our next workshop meeting in Amesbury on May 19 & 20 at the Community Room of the Newburyport Bank. Email Ellie O'Leary for the information sheet and registration form. Fee is $75 per household.

Schedule Change

We have had a schedule change. Our second workshop in June is now being held on June 23 & 24 in Newburyport. This is one week later than originally scheduled.

April Workshops

Our April workshop in Saugus is now full, but we are taking registrations for our workshop meeting in Newburyport on Saturday & Sunday, April 21 & 22.

Down Payment Assistance from Mass Housing

Mass Housing loans just got even more affordable. For income eligible, qualified buyers Mass Housing now provides down payment assistance for up to 3% of the purchase price or $12,000, whichever is less.

The down payment assistance is a 15-year, fixed rate loan at 1% interest. A $10,000 down payment assistance loan would be 180 payments of $59.85 each. Any unpaid portion would be due upon sale or refinance of the property prior to the end of the 15-year term.

Home buyers accessing down payment assistance must still meet Mass Housing’s underwriting criteria, including minimum credit score and debt-to-income qualifications, and attend a homeownership education class. Eligible households can be earning $103,4000 or less in eastern Massachusetts, depending on household size.

First Time Homebuyer Workshop Next Weekend

Are you looking for a first time homebuyer workshop? We are offering one in Amesbury on March 24 & 25. It’s best to take the workshop early in the process; you don’t have to be already buying or even ready to buy. The certificate you receive is good for two years and can be renewed. The fee is $75 per household. Email EOLeary@CoastalHB.org for registration information.

Amesbury First Time Homebuyer Workshop

We are now accepting registrations for our next Amesbury workshop meeting form noon to 5 p.m. in downtown Amesbury. For the information sheet and registration form, please email EOLeary@CoastalHB.org. The fee is $75 and pre-registration is required.

New Schedule

We have had to adjust our schedule, in part due to the flu season. Our next workshop is now on March 10 & 11, in Newburyport.

We are now taking registrations for our next workshop, meeting in downtown Newburyport on Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11 - noon to about 5 p.m. both days. To get registration materials email Ellie O'Leary.

Next Workshop

We will be meeting from noon to 5 each day and you will get your homebuyer ed certificate at the end of the day on Sunday. Fee is $75 per household.
